Cistern Rock is a very unimpressive reef system above the water, but below the water is where it becomes extremely interesting. Down below you have a vast number of different species of fish hiding within the coral. The water at the rock is very shallow (3ft), the best way to experience the wildlife is by hovering and swimming slowly around the reef system allowing the fish to come out of hiding.
When arriving at Cistern Rock you’ll be greeted by a vast number a turtles looking for food, our favorite turtle is a little guy we call peg leg. We like to feed the turtles squid, they absolutely love it and cannot get enough of it. We allow guest to feed and touch the turtles we just encourage you to be very careful because fingers tend to look like squid to them.
